Project Phoenix House by CSK Status building permit granted Overview Phoenix House is a rare opportunity to integrate an existing ruin into a new masonry, which consists almost entirely of the remains of historical buildings on the site. This net-zero-carbon building will therefore make a practical contribution to the current debate on reuse. How is “care” implemented in the design? Existing stones and bricks from previous historic buildings on the site will be reused for the new construction in order to efficiently use materials from finite resources. Since almost all houses have a finite lifespan, the simple and solid masonry structure has been designed so that it can be easily recovered and reused in the future. In light of the climate crisis, reusing existing stones and bricks will result in a building with low emissions. About Architects x Epic Games: A Revolution in Visualization As part of the London Festival of Architecture, architects were invited to connect their projects with the topic of care and to bring animations to life with pixel-perfect and easy-to-understand BIM and CAD models using Twinmotion. Starting June 21, Architects x Epic Games: A Revolution in Visualization is showing a series of built and undeveloped projects that address topics such as housing, sustainability and healthcare. The photo-realistic output of the visualization tool breaks down barriers to understanding and greatly improves the architect’s ability to express the narrative of his design.
