Sam Fox, who has opened more than 100 restaurants, opens his first hotel with the help of Nelsen Partners Architects, Berghoff Design Group and Judi Testani from Testani Design Troupe. Expected to open in autumn 2023, The Global Ambassador promises to combine impressive hospitality, culinary and wellness experiences. A Legacy Project Created from a global perspective, but with a local connection, The Global Ambassador will be part of a mixed-use program by Red Development. Located on the northwest corner of 44th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix, this prominent spot is at the point where Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley converge. Fox will manage, operate and co-develop the hotel under its newly founded company Author & Edit Hospitality. “For me, the Global Ambassador is a deeply personal legacy project that furthers my quest to combine unmatched hospitality with culinary excellence,” he said. “This is so much more than a hotel – it is a luxury lifestyle brand that we hope will inspire and attract travelers from around the world to explore Phoenix in new ways. The Global Ambassador is the natural evolution of my passion for creating unforgettable hospitality experiences. ”Fox will be instrumental in making every aspect of the hotel a reality. He is developing the property with his business partner and friend, Brian Frakes of the Common Bond Development Group, who will assist with the design, architectural oversight and financial modeling. Nelsen Partners Architects will lead the architectural design, the Berghoff Design Group will be responsible for the landscape architecture of the site and the interiors will be designed by Judi Testani from Testani Design Troupe. A lively social center The 141-room hotel promises energy and a lively atmosphere. From the social areas to hidden courtyards, each area is meant to be rich in sophistication and charm. Based on Fox’s dining experience, the hotel will host five original restaurants whose cuisine is influenced by the Mediterranean. Notably, these facilities include the state’s largest rooftop restaurant overlooking Camelback Mountain. The heart of the hotel will be a plaza courtyard with inviting seating. The hotel’s wellness center will include an ultra-luxurious spa and expansive fitness level, with the level above being home to a limited membership club that will be the first of its kind in Arizona. “With The Global Ambassador, we’re evolving luxury hospitality at every level and from every perspective to bring something truly remarkable to the well-traveled set that wants to be inspired and mesmerized in authentic and unexpected ways,” said Fox. “This is a convergence of meaning in hospitality, wellness and culture.” For Fox, this news follows the debut of The Twelve Thirty Club in Nashville. The restaurateur has opened over 100 restaurants so far, with further openings planned for 2021.
