Valley concert goers, have your credit cards ready. The organizers of a number of Metro Phoenix music festivals have announced dates for the next editions of the events and other details. In other breaking local music news, the long-awaited AREZZONA show in Rawhide has been postponed again due to bad weather, pop rock band The Maine is releasing their latest album this week and two iconic rock bands are on their way to town. Goldrush Festival 2021 Dates Announced A flock of local electronic dance music fans is likely to head to Rawhide Western Town in Chandler on the last weekend of September when the Goldrush Music Festival returns to the venue. On Tuesday, local promoter Relentless Beats announced that the 2021 edition of the festival will run from Friday September 24th to Sunday September 26th for free. The Wild West event previously took place at the venue in 2018 and 2019, but was suspended last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday July 9th on the Goldrush website. Earlier versions of Goldrush were jointly promoted with local hip-hop events company Universatile Music and featured both rappers and EDM artists. Relentless Beats owner Thomas Turner told Phoenix New Times that this year’s event will focus solely on a “wide range of EDM artists.” The performers will be announced in the next few weeks. Arizona Musicfest Reveals 2021-22 Schedule The organizers of Arizona Musicfest also announced Tuesday that the annual multi-genre concert series – featuring a mix of jazz, classical, R&B, world, pop, instrumental and folk -Artists – will celebrate a comeback this year. Performances are scheduled to begin in November and run at various venues in North Phoenix and Scottsdale through winter through spring 2022. The full schedule for the festival’s 2021-22 season has been announced, and highlights include names like LeAnn Rimes, Paul Anka, Sarah Chang, Kenny G, Pink Martini, Sergio Mendes, and Bernadette Peters. The series begins on Monday November 1st with a performance of ABBA: The Concert at Highlands Church in Scottsdale. Ticket prices vary. AREZZONA postponed due to thunderstorms REZZ had the worst trying to perform in the Valley in recent years. The twice postponed AREZZONA concert of the native Ukrainian, which was to take place on July 3rd at the Rawhide Event Center in Chandler, was postponed again at the last minute due to thunderstorms that swept through the Phoenix Metro shortly before Showtime. According to promoter Relentless Beats, lightning strikes within three miles of Rawhide caused the plug to be pulled at the open-air concert that took place on the venue’s Sonora lawn. The company initially hoped the show would only be delayed (with the crowd taking shelter in a large building nearby) until the storm was over. ZZ (@OfficialRezz) July 4, 2021 Later that evening, Relentless Beats announced on social media that AREZZONA was in Rawhide with its full cast (including support acts G Jones, CharlesTheFirst, Of The Trees and Youms) intact. It is the third time that AREZZONA has been postponed to a new date in the calendar. Originally scheduled for March 2020, it has been postponed twice due to the pandemic. Cheap Trick and ZZ Top Coming to Talking Stick Resort Rock ‘n’ roll legends Cheap Trick and ZZ Top have recently announced that they will be performing at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale on their respective upcoming tours. It starts with Cheap Trick, which will be played in the resort’s Salt River Grand Ballroom on Saturday, August 14th. It’s a solo gig with no opener and starts at 8 p.m. Show at 8 p.m. on Sunday October 10th. Tickets for both concerts cost $ 35 to $ 140. Click to enlarge Members of the local pop rock band The Maine. Eighty One Twenty Three The Maine Celebrates New Album With Special Livestream Phoenix-based band The Maine will release their latest album XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time on Friday and are planning a special live streaming performance this weekend. The online event, titled “Face Towards The Sun,” will be streamed from a rooftop in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 11th at 7:00 pm Arizona time. It costs $ 14.99. The Maine has already released four singles from the 10-track album, including “April 7th”, “Lips” and “Pretender”. The first single, “Sticky,” debuted in March and was broadcast on alternative radio stations in the United States, and its music video has received more than 800,000 YouTube views. AZ Rockabilly Bash Returns in 2022 If you couldn’t attend the AZ Rockabilly Bash in March, the organizers of the weeklong hepcat event have announced the dates for next year. According to recent posts on the AZ Rockabilly Bash Facebook page, it will kick off on Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th, 2022 at Lake Pleasant in Peoria. The organizers promise the event will continue to feature a bespoke auto and motorcycle show, pin-up competition, vendors, local bands and overnight camping.
