Here’s a look at the best things to do in town, where most venues continue to require masks and social distancing. Find portraits by more than two dozen artists in a free exhibit at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library. Scottsdale Arts Face Time See portraits of more than two dozen artists in a free exhibition titled “I Am You, You Are Me: Portraits,” on view in the Scottsdale Civic Center Library gallery. Featured artists include Jerome Fleming, Dain Q. Gore, Brianna Noble, and Kara Roschi. The opening times of the library are on Monday, March 29th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other days / times vary. The exhibition runs until June 21st. EXPAND Recalls one of the changing projections by Kendra Sollars, which were shown in a creative room in the metropolis of Phoenix. Lynn Trimble Experimental ArtSound and visual artist Jimmy Peggie curated videos of more than 20 performers for a film called Experimental Arizona, which will be available to watch online on Wednesday, March 31st at 12:30 pm. The film encompasses sound art, video art and interdisciplinary installations – including work by Christine Cassano and a collaboration between Scottish improviser and sound artist Lauren Sarah Hayes and Kendra Sollars, a Tempe-based artist who specializes in video art. The screening is free.War HorseIt has been 10 years since Steven Spielberg made the movie War Horse, which combines family drama and the aftermath of WWI. It is based on a novel that also inspired a beautiful and compelling play that you can watch virtually as part of the National Theater Live series. The first screening of the week will be on Wednesday, March 31st at 10 a.m. by Mesa Community College. Tickets are $ 15. Stop Making SenseNo Festival Required presents an outdoor Screening of Stop Making Sense, the Talking Heads concert film recording a live performance at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood on Thursday April 1st at 8pm. It takes place in front of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, where lawn pods for up to four people are $ 25 and Adirondack chair pods for up to two people are $ 30. The free event also includes SoSco Duo on flute and guitar. EXPAND Look for the Let’s Be Better Humans bus on Grand Avenue Friday night. Jon Linton Unsheltered Awareness Local creatives are performing outdoor work along Grand Avenue between Roosevelt and Van Buren Streets during a free event called Unhoused Awareness to highlight the problem of deaths related to lack of housing and water. The Art Walk, the auction and the Food Drive will take place on Friday, April 2nd, from 6pm to 10pm. Several creative rooms will also be open that evening. Spend some time exploring local spots when Bud’s Glass Joint on Roosevelt Row and Bud’s on Grand showcase this free Christmas tradition on Saturday April 3rd from 2pm to 4pm. Just pick up a map from Bud’s and go hunt for eggs as you get a feel for the recent changes in the area and reconnect to some of your favorite spots. Expand CONDER / dance by bringing Ten Tiny Dances to Taliesin West in Scottsdale. Ashley Lorraine Baker Ten Tiny DancesTen choreographers created works inspired by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, which the dancers will perform on Saturday 3rd April on a 1.2 by 1.2 meter stage in Taliesin West in Scottsdale. The 6pm show is sold out. but there is also a 8pm performance. The choreographers include Carley Conder and Nicole L Olson. Tickets are $ 35. EXPAND In memory of the recent water installation in the Desert Botanical Garden. Waterlily Pond Studio Down to Earth On Sunday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., stroll the garden paths surrounded by blooming desert flora at the Daniel Schultz Desert Botanical Garden of Waterlily Pond Studio, which features 10,000 fresh plants including roses, orchids and succulents , was created. It’s included with garden entry, which starts at $ 14.95.
