Multiple people injured in West Phoenix accident PHOENIX – Police say a woman is dead after a multiple vehicle crash late Sunday evening in West Phoenix that injured several others. According to Sgt. Ann Justus of the Phoenix Police Department, the two-car accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on September 26 near 45th Avenue and Indian School Road. In response to the scene, officers learned that a Kia Soul was traveling south on 45th Avenue and turning left onto Indian School Road when it collided with a Hyundai Sonata traveling west at Indian School. The Kia passenger, identified as 63-year-old Cheryl Anderson, was rushed to hospital where she later died. The driver was also hospitalized. Six people were in the Hyundai, and three of them, sitting in the back seat, ran from the scene after the accident. One of them was later found and taken to hospital but left without treatment. The other three inmates, including the driver, were hospitalized. “The driver of the Kia showed no signs or symptoms of impairment; however, it is believed that the impairment was a factor in the driver of the Hyundai,” Jupiter said in a statement.
