A man who was paranoid that he was going to be killed jumped off a plane as it was taxiing into an airport. A passenger reportedly jumped off a Southwest Airlines flight that had just landed at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix on Saturday morning. The passenger, identified as 30-year-old Daniel Ramirez, exited the aircraft through a galley door on the back of the aircraft and briefly locked himself in a fire station on the tarmac in Phoenix, according to FOX 10. The pilot of Flight 4236 from Colorado Springs, Colorado stopped the plane and contacted air traffic control. Authorities were able to get the man to unlock the door of a dormitory room at the fire station in a matter of minutes, KPNX-TV in Phoenix reported. He was rushed to the hospital for a leg injury and on Saturday night Mr. Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of two trespassing offenses all along and so they notified us. It just shows you how much of a well-oiled machine you are out there, “said Captain Todd Keller of the Phoenix Fire Department, according to FOX 10. The plane reached the gate with a short delay, reported KPNX. Phoenix Police said the investigation into the incident was ongoing and it was not yet clear what motivated the man to jump off the plane, reported FOX 10. According to ABC, Mr. Ramirez’s family said he was in Colorado for a tiling job , but wanted to come home because he feared for his life. Speaking to Phoenix ABC 15 television, the family feared Mr Ramirez might be schizophrenic because of her family history. His mother, Theresa Padilla, said she video-called her son to make sure he got on the plane. “I don’t want him portrayed as a crazy guy who jumped off the plane. He ran and hid because he thought someone was after him, ”said Ms. Padilla. Ramirez’s sister-in-law Emily Luevano also said she was on the phone, according to the Associated Press. “We spoke to him on the phone for seven hours. He was paranoid and said, ‘Somebody is coming for me. Somebody is going to kill me, ”Ms. Luevano told ABC 15. – with Fox News
