PHOENIX – (BUSINESS WIRE) – 11.11.2021–
The University of Phoenix is a sponsor of the Medal of Honor and supports the annual Veterans ‘Day Parade, led and presented by the nonprofit Honoring Americans’ Veterans, on Thursday, November 11th at 11:00 am MST. The annual parade honors the services and sacrifices of U.S. military veterans and their families.
During the pandemic, the 2020 celebrations and related personal community events and support opportunities were canceled or postponed.
The University of Phoenix’s Office of Military and Veteran Affairs and the Veterans’ Employee Resource Group (ERG) are promoting the event to staff, students, and faculty, and providing volunteer support. The University of Phoenix parade wagon has a large balloon and a team of seasoned staff and family members to escort the wagon, including Eric Ryan, executive director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
“The University of Phoenix has so much respect for military veterans, and we are proud to be part of the community work today that supports the parade and honors the service and sacrifice of the veterans,” said Ryan, a Marine Corps veteran. “Every year we coordinate with our veteran staff resource group to make a meaningful contribution of time and spirit to this event.”
This year’s event features 15 marching units, 2,500 protesters, and 10 floats, including the University of Phoenix float. Event planners expect over 45,000 spectators.
