PHOENIX – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Sept. December 2021–
The University of Phoenix is pleased to announce that McCeil Johnson, JD, Vice President of Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance, will be speaking at the Women in Automotive annual conference. Johnson will lead a final TEDTalk keynote presentation on “Ignite the Future by Being a Better Negotiator” entitled “Ignite: Women in Automotive 2021 Conference” on how to negotiate successfully at the conference from December 11-12 .
“We are very excited to announce McCeil Johnson’s experience, thought leadership and dynamic stage presence as the closing keynote of our Women in Automotive conference on Sunday, December 12th.
Johnson has been a speaker at the Women in Automotive circuit since March 2021, giving presentations and guides on how women can empower themselves and their voices in a male-dominated industry. At the beginning of 2021 she took part in a panel discussion on “Establishing the Cornerstone of Diversity & Change” in September and in March led a discussion on “Sparking Diversity and Inclusion Conversation in the Workplace”.
“I came to Women in Automotive when a colleague recommended me to give a presentation,” says Johnson. “I was intrigued by the ways I could contribute to her empowerment mission and grow up with friends in Iowa at a young age. We agreed that any opportunity to talk about diversity issues or differences was a teaching moment and an opportunity for acceptance. I have maintained this commitment to learning and development opportunities around diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging. “
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Johnson graduated from the University of Iowa with bachelor’s and master’s degrees and her doctorate in law from the University of Iowa College of Law. In her current role as Vice President, Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance for the University of Phoenix, Johnson will lead and manage the university’s institutional and college accreditation and regulatory initiatives, including institutional, programmatic, state and other regulatory functions. That fall, Johnson accepted an appointment to the University of Iowa’s College of Law Alumni Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council.
Women in Automotive was founded by six female industry executives who came together with the same interest in empowering and developing women in the automotive industry. The philosophy is that this will benefit both women and the automotive industry and will help attract, hire, train, mentor and develop more female leaders across the industry. The conference is the organization’s premier event, promoting the community, networking, career advancement and empowerment of women who work in dealerships and companies across the country.
