PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Ready for a cocktail on the beach in Hawaii? Southwest Airlines is now making it a lot easier to travel to Hawaii from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport this summer. Southwest Airlines announced a massive expansion to Hawaii from Phoenix on Thursday morning, including non-stop flights to Honolulu, Kahului, Kona and Lihue. Daily service for Honolulu and Kahului begins June 27th. The Kona and Lihue service begins on September 7th. Special one-way tariffs can be purchased from as little as USD 159. “People move to Phoenix to enjoy our quality life. Air travel is an important part of that equation – our residents want to know they can travel efficiently to popular destinations, whether for business or pleasure, ”said Kate Gallego, Mayor of Phoenix. “As COVID restrictions ease and travelers choose to get away, it’s exciting to know that these new flights from Phoenix to Hawaii in the Southwest give them more convenient options.” In addition to the Phoenix service, Southwest Airlines also announced new non-stop flights to Hawaii from Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Diego.
