The popular Slider Throwdown fundraising event, which supports the efforts of the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF), returns to the High Street on Sunday, November 14th. This annual culinary “Battle of the Burger” offers samples of delicious slider burger creations from local food trucks and vendors. Sliders are presented in a variety of innovative interpretations, including beef, chicken, vegetables, and more. During the entire event, the participating food trucks will fight for the title of “Best Slider”. Selected “slider experts” serve as judges for the throwdown, and entrants can also weigh their favorite burger bite to help a food truck entrant take home the coveted “People’s Choice” award. Guests can also enjoy entertainment, shopping, and a silent auction while they dine their way through the high street so generously supported for year, ”said Kris Jacober, Managing Director of AFFCF. “Our important efforts to create opportunities for young people in foster families would not be possible without the support of our donors and event attendees. we’re really grateful to them. ”This year’s event features tastings from participating food trucks, including 2 Fat Guys Grilled Cheese, Aioli Burgers, Chicken and Waffles For the People, El Taco Santo, Kingpin BBQ and Randizzle’s. Cutie’s Lemonade and More Truck and Kicks Frozen Yogurt Dessert Truck will also offer free sips and candy.
