Several teens injured after crash in north Phoenix | Phoenix Traffic

PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Several teenagers were injured in an accident near 12th Street and Union Hills Road Thursday morning. The crash occurred near North Canyon High School. The Phoenix Police and the Phoenix Fire responded to reports of a multiple vehicle crash around 7:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found that three vehicles were involved in the accident. Investigators say a silver car was traveling north on 12th Street when the driver tried to turn right on Union Hills but collided with a black car on a wide bend. This led to a collision with a third vehicle, the police said. One person, a teenager, had to be pulled out of the car, fire officials said. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Two other teenage girls are in stable condition in the hospital. An unknown fourth person is said to have not been critically injured. It is unclear who was in which vehicle and whether there were further injuries to the other vehicles. The authorities assume that the intersection will be closed for part of the morning during the investigation. It is not yet clear what led to the crash and whether impairment or speed are suspected as factors.
