PHOENIX – A school district in Phoenix wants a lawsuit over its COVID-19 mask mandate, which could be a test case for other districts. Phoenix Union High School District attorneys argued at a preliminary hearing on Wednesday that state law banning such policies is not yet in place. They say the law that includes the ban won’t go into effect until September 29th. A biology teacher filed a lawsuit this week, demanding a restraining order for the measure, which he said was illegal. Both sides will come up with full arguments next week.
