PHOENIX – Thanks to the Phoenix Rescue Mission, more than one hundred Valley families have received urgently needed help today. Volunteers have met in South Phoenix to distribute groceries and sanitary bags to families who are struggling. Willie Anderson tells ABC15 that she works every day, but her salary isn’t enough to afford everything she needs. I work every day but I still need a little help, ”said Anderson. She said it was nice to be able to rely on such services to provide basic things. “Like rice and beans, they sometimes have flour. You know, just the basics. “ABC15 volunteers from the Phoenix Rescue Mission said these events are more and more necessary as food aid for many families across the valley drops and said the number of people carrying those bags pick, noticeably increases in non-perishable foods, some cleaning products and other personal care products, but as the holidays get closer they need turkey and canned food to provide traditional meals to these families and over time they become the trust within that community and the effect that they have here. “They are fun to see, even in the ten seconds that you see them, developing a relationship with them.” If you’d like to donate, click here.
