A 30-year-old Phoenix man alleged to have murdered a woman in her home in the presence of her three children and then left the minors with the body for five days was arrested Thursday. AZFamily says the defendant, identified as Andre Daniels, faces first-degree murder charges in the May murder of 30-year-old Shavone Robinson. He is also facing additional child abuse charges. The children Daniels allegedly left to their fate for five days after killing Robinson included a four-week-old baby and a three- and two-year-old. Daniels shared the one month old baby with Robinson. Police said they reported to the scene on May 17 after receiving a call from neighbors in the courtyard of an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road, where children were crying and asking for food. The officers who responded were eventually forced to climb a ladder to the patio on the second floor after receiving no response when knocking on the front door. And when they finally got into the apartment, they discovered Robinson’s bloody body with multiple stab wounds in several places on its body. Her deceased mother’s one-month-old baby was also found near her. The infant is said to have suffered multiple fractures of the skull and a brain injury. Robinson’s other two children were also dehydrated and vomiting when they were found, AZFamily reported. Daniels, currently held on a $ 3 million bond, was confronted by Robinson’s mother on Friday during a virtual courtroom appearance. “You did all of this and left it all to my little babies for them to see? And who knows how many days she was there? And the children watched their mother there? ”Asked the mother of the victim Daniels, while she gave her testimony as victim representative. “What did she do to you that you took her away from me?” Robinson’s mother also described Daniels as a “very, very sick person”. “I hope you rot. Just rot, ”she added. “You stole that from us. You took her with you! ”Surveillance footage on May 12th revealed a person in Robinson’s apartment who stayed in it for nearly 20 minutes before leaving. Investigators say Daniels’ cell phone was being tracked in the said area at the time of the murder, azcentral reported. Robinson’s phone is also said to have taken the route as Daniels’ phone after her device was pulled out of the apartment. Police say Robinson’s phone went off as a result. Investigators also say they believe the motive for the murder stemmed from Daniels telling Robinson to terminate her pregnancy – which she didn’t. The defendant, who also wanted the baby to be put up for adoption, was in a relationship with another woman and had other children. And after Robinson found out about Daniels’ relationship with the other woman, Robinson contacted her on Facebook to let her know that she was sharing a child with the defendant. Robinson was killed four days later. “I think the death penalty? It’s too easy, ”said Robinson’s mother Daniels on Friday. “I want you to live until God takes you. I want you to suffer behind these bars. ”In the meantime, a GoFundMe has been set up to raise funds for Robinson’s funeral expenses and the upkeep of her children. “He really destroyed our family,” added Robinson’s mother. “And I do not know why.”
