Phoenix family searching for answers after 17-year-old gunned down on Mother’s Day | Arizona News

PHOENIX, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – A family from western Phoenix calls for justice after a teenage boy was shot dead in a local park on Mother’s Day. The family of 17-year-old Erin Carrillo Felix says the detectives have no evidence of his murder. They rely on the people who were in this park at the time to give their opinion. There are more questions than answers about the filming at Desert West Park. “Why did you do this to Erin?” asks Grasiela Angulo, Erin Carrillo Felix’s cousin. And who pulled the trigger that led to Felix’s death? Teenager found shot dead in Phoenix Park; Phoenix Police said Felix was shot dead in the park near 67th Avenue and Thomas Road at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. He died on the scene. The cell phone video from that night shows a young man devastated after Felix was pronounced dead. And now his cousin Angulo said, although days have passed, the pain has not subsided. “Very sad and very hurt, like you don’t know what this family is costing you,” said Angulo. Now there is a memorial in the same park where Felix was killed during one night with friends. Candles, balloons and flowers will show you what influence Felix had on the people he loved. “Erin was very generous,” said Angulo. “Lovingly.” But Angulo said Felix would never really settle down until there was justice. “We want this person behind bars,” said Angulo. Still, questions remain in Desert West Park. She thinks someone knows something. “This park is full of skaters, a lot of people must have heard a shot or seen what was happening here,” said Angulo. “We need justice for Erin.” A GoFundMe for Felix’s family can be found here.
