From Glendale to Phoenix, it’s starting to look like Christmas. PHOENIX – Thanksgiving is only days away, but Christmas time is brightening up parts of the valley. In Glendale, Downtown in December begins on Friday evening, November 19th. The city will turn on the lights in Murphy Park in downtown Glendale and start spreading the Christmas cheer from 6pm. Over the next few weeks there will be music, a 20- foot-walk snowman, huge, brightly lit Christmas tree, family entertainment, shopping, dining, and more. The Murphy Park Amphitheater has a variety of free holiday performances on the stage every Friday and Saturday. The fun begins on Saturday, November 20th. at 6 p.m. with the official tree lighting. There will be games and handicrafts for the kids along with special guests like Santa Claus. Food and drinks are available in various Desert Ridge restaurants. If you are fully booked on Friday and Saturday evenings, no problem. The lights will be on for the entire season at both locations.
