PHOENIX (3TV / CBS5) – People in the Laveen community continue to get honors when they remember a loved one of their elementary school principals who was killed in a car accident this week. Lisa Sandomir was the headmistress for Maurice. attended C. Cash Elementary School and worked as an educator in Laveen for 16 years. It was Tuesday at the intersection of 75th Avenue and Broadway Road when Maricopa County Sheriff officials said a large service truck did not see any cars stopping at a stop sign and crashed into two cars. Sandomir died from her injuries. The driver is faced with allegations that officials do not believe alcohol played a role. Under Sandomir’s leadership, the staff credits her for making MC Cash Elementary an A + School of Excellence. Sandomir has also been named Luge Model Headmistress, an honor only given to a handful of educators each year. But the legacy she leaves behind is more than the awards and grades, people in the community say she was important to her. “When we as a family needed something, she was always there for us,” says David Romero. Never stop believing in yourself because I won’t. You will be someone in life and just move on. And now I’m a small business owner. As I said, I stayed and I made her proud, I can say I made her proud. “Says Romero, who owns The Tacos food truck in Laveen. Jeff Sprout, the district manager of Laveen, says Sandomir would be too proud of the way the school is teaming up to weather this tragedy. A memorial service will be held in the courtyard of MC Cash Primary School on Wednesday November 3rd at 4:00 pm Copyright 2021 KPHO / KTVK (KPHO Broadcasting Corporation) . All rights reserved.
