Members of the Phoenix Congregation are holding a demonstration in front of Verulam District Court on Monday. Members of the Phoenix Community are calling for those charged with murder related to the July riot to be released on bail pending their trial. This follows the death of Jeetendra Jaikissoon, who died in police custody on Friday. Jaikissoon died shortly after being transferred to hospital after falling ill. He was remanded in Westville Prison for 90 days and requested bail. On Monday, about 20 people held a poster demonstration in front of the Verulam District Court.
