Last Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Phoenix home still for sale The circular sun house at Phoenix Mountain Preserve has been in the market for about a year and is one of 14 homes of its type designed by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Matt Galka from FOX 10 reports. PHOENIX – One of the last home designs by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright is for sale in Phoenix and will cost around $ 8 million. The circular sun house in Phoenix Mountain Preserve has been in the market for about a year and is one of only 14 circular homes designed by Wright. The house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and great views. “Everything about this house is attractive. All Frank Lloyd Wright houses have a special fireplace, and it is similar to the Guggenheim Museum. Every room has a view as you have probably noticed. The house wasn’t just a Frank Lloyd Wright design. It was his last draft. The plans for the house were still on paper when Wright died in 1959. The house was built in 1967. “This house feels especially like the future because of its shape. It almost feels like a spaceship, ”said Erik B. Peterson with PHX architecture. “All of his designs have lower ceilings, not because he thinks people are shorter, but actually designs them for the use of the house, which is in the seated position.” Many of Wright’s designs are unique and built to last, but even after a year on the market, a new owner could still put their own stamp on it. “Wright always said, ‘I think my homes should be remodeled over time. I think they should be used in an exciting way and not become museums. ‘ I think that gives us some leeway to make some changes, “Peterson said. The house is now used as an Airbnb.
