Joaquin Phoenix Wants You To Go Vegan. Here’s Why

While Joaquin Phoenix has been vegan since he was three and he believes there has been an “exponential growth in veganism” in recent years, he doesn’t want to force everyone to go vegan (via VegNews). As he told the Sunday Times earlier this year, “I’m not going to impose my beliefs on my child.” At the same time, he wants everyone to make informed choices about the food that is served on the table. While a child may not be the right audience for their movie “Gunda”, PETA’s new campaign on speciesism seeks to address the effects of the divide between certain animal groups. Given that many people are well informed about how, what and where certain farm products end up on the table, the same concept may not be quite as clear when it comes to some animal products that are at the heart of the plate . Based on the Phoenix’s comments on this campaign and previous interviews, he begs people to gain knowledge of the topic and use that information to guide their decision (via Delish). While both sides of the conversation have their adamant opinions, in reality it is a personal choice, just like Phoenix gives his own son. After weighing the pros and cons and other aspects, only those who hold the fork can make the right choice for them.
