From Jordan Houston, flavors of baked goods, visions of pitched tents, and soft noises of church talk will set the scene on the high street Sunday through spring when the annual farmers market returns. The High Street Farmers Market, located on Loop 101 on 56th Street, officially opened on Sunday October 3rd. It runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and features entertainment to showcase handcrafted goods, food, art, and more. The dog-friendly event is designed to attract shoppers from across the valley to indulge in creative local produce and network while enjoying the stylish urban neighborhood of the open-air district. The participants can look forward to farm-fresh products, honey from the region, home-baked bread and sweets, olive oil, barbecue sauces, tamales, natural meat, German sausages, flowers, organic brownie mixes, kettle corn, hummus, baby clothes and jewelry, and artistic home decor said High Street spokeswoman Robyn Patterson. “A lot of people are excited to be starting again,” says Patterson. “It’s the perfect time of year to get outside, enjoy the weather and support local businesses. And I think people are excited to have things to look forward to – a weekly thing all spring. ”Although no list of planned sellers was available at press time, Patterson says previous farmers market favorites like Big Reds Hot Sauce, RA Seasonings and The Tamale Store will all be returning this year. She adds that the popular market is the perfect opportunity to do Christmas shopping while empowering the community and supporting small businesses. “I think farmers markets in general bring communities together, and I think it helps support local businesses,” Patterson says. “I think High Street did a good job of accommodating local businesses outside of their existing tenants. “Personally, I just love the mom and pop companies that are supported by events like this and that are successful. It’s fun introducing their products to new customers and I think a lot of people need support during this time. I know it’s been tough, especially for food companies. ”Since its inception, High Street has embodied a contemporary blend of“ the sophisticated and polite Scottsdale and the casual comfort of Phoenix ”. High Street offers entertainment options for every social palate, including hip nightlife spots for after-work events, boutiques for leisurely shopping and delicious delicacies and juicy dishes in first-class restaurants. The area is also the only place in the world that houses a Sprouts Express Market. “It’s a really unique property in North Phoenix,” says Patterson. “It’s a top dining and entertainment destination, and it’s essentially a street of great restaurants, entertainment, shops, and casual shops.” After a morning at the upcoming farmers’ market, attendees are invited to relax in one of the many delicious high street restaurants including The Boozy Breakfast, The Stir Coffee Bar, Modern Margarita, Mellow Mushroom, and Hula’s Modern Tiki. The High Street Farmers Market will also adhere to all social distancing, health, and safety guidelines related to COVID-19 to ensure attendees of all ages can safely enjoy the festivities, Patterson added. “I think they are always trying to expand and add new providers year after year,” she explains. “They added safety protocols to comply with COVID-19 health regulations to ensure the safety of the vendors and the crowds.”
