PHOENIX – The family of a woman who was fatally shot and killed on a food truck in Phoenix this month are hoping for answers after the surveillance video of the incident was released on Tuesday. Her mother, Brenda Gilliam-Miller, described Destiny as “a heart of gold” between tears during the press conference. Destiny McClain’s Family “Destiny had a heart of gold. Always ready to go out of her way to help everyone where she could. She loved to laugh and loved making people around her laugh. Destiny’s love of life was her dog Capone. She was very close to her family. She would brighten any room with her smile and her infectious laugh, ”said Gilliam-Miller. Destiny McClain Phoenix’s family said the video was shared in hopes the community would recognize the suspicious vehicle. Officials say around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, McClain was ordering food near 17th Street and McDowell Road when she was hit by gunfire. Phoenix Fire paramedics took her to a hospital where she later died. Detectives believe unknown suspects shot out of a vehicle in the area and the shots came in. “We have no reason to believe Destiny was targeted because of their identity or anything, so we’re trying to figure out why this happened,” Phoenix said Police Sgt.
