PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – The creative minds behind the popular brunch spot Hash Kitchen, the restaurants Sicilian Butcher and Sicilian Baker, have a new venture in the north of Phoenix: The Mexicano! Chef Joey Maggiore and his wife Christina Maggiore von The Maggiore Group announced on Wednesday their newest concept, The Mexicano, which will be dedicated to delivering a great Mexican dining experience. The eatery offers a menu created by the chef with regional flavors, reinterpreted agave cocktails, a curated selection of spirits, a social media photo-inducing atmosphere and a self-made Michelada bar! Source: Knight Agency The Maggiores’ plan to open the restaurant on the southeast corner of Tatum Boulevard and Cactus Road is slated to open on December 7th from 4pm to 11pm, at The Mexicano is entering a competition where a 1,000 – Dollar gift certificate being won by the Maggiore Group. The gift card can be redeemed at The Mexicano, Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker. The opening week is exclusively dinner, lunch begins the following week. The Mexicano will reflect the energy of Hash Kitchen, but with a fiesta flair. The Maggiore Group has also introduced a mobile churro cart and donkey cart with a tequila ice-cream toboggan and shot glasses, and the self-made Michelada bar allows guests to mix and match infused tequilas, Mexican draft beers and over 40 toppings, including oysters, shrimp cocktails , pickled jicama, dry chorizo, tamarindo sticks and habanero cheese. Source: Knight Agency Designed by Chef Joey and Executive Chef de Cuisine Fidencio Alatriste, the culinary menu focuses on honoring the traditions and vibrancy of Mexico. The menu, which runs from lunch to dinner, features Mexican classics with a few modern touches. Some menu items include smoking grouper ceviche in a coconut bowl, lava stone fajitas served on (you guessed it) sizzling lava stones, 36 inch quesadillas (say less), charcoal grilled premium meat and seafood, and more! Have a selection of tequilas, mezcals, beers, wines and specialty cocktails like piñata margaritas, frozen margarita flights and agave-based cocktails.
