Cloud services company Expedient opens new data center in Phoenix

PHOENIX – The Valley houses another data center, as Expedient announced on Tuesday that it is opening a new cloud data center in Phoenix. Expedient, which offers customers a portfolio of universal multi-cloud services, said in a press release that the new data center will help to better serve increasing customer demand in the west of the country. The 45,000 square meter facility with 2.4 megawatts capacity offers 17,000 physical servers and will serve as a gateway to the cloud and provide access to the company’s capabilities. It will also have redundant power and cooling infrastructure systems within the facility, the company said, and include three standby diesel fuel motor-generators with provision for a fourth unit. “Expedient’s investment helps meet the needs of Phoenix’s thriving and expanding business ecosystem with multi-cloud solutions,” said Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, in the press release. “We congratulate Expedient on the opening of its newest data center in Phoenix and on the continued growth of the company in the region.” transform. The data center also makes Expedient the only leading cloud service provider to offer multi-cloud security and administration services from a local data center in Arizona, according to the company, which enables high-speed networks to be connective to other hyperscale cloud service providers in addition to colocation services for customers in the Phoenix area. The company’s customers include the University of Phoenix, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, and the Los Angeles Food Bank.
