November 4, 2021 1:00 PM If you’re interested in growing your own groceries at home, there are three garden systems and training support to choose from for a year! The Phoenix City Environmental Programs Office (OEP) is excited to announce that applications for its new FREE Backyard Garden Pilot program have been accepted. The residents selected to participate will receive material, labor, training and maintenance support free of charge for one year as required. OEP is looking for passionate community members who are interested in growing food and are willing to commit to gardening in the garden for a year. The city has the capacity to host 90 people by the end of 2021, who will receive a new garden system. Applications can be made on Monday, November 15th at 11:59 p.m. This program is made possible by funding from the federal Coronavirus State and the Local Recovery Fund.
