After a year and a half hiatus due to restrictions related to Covid-19, British Airways announced on Thursday that it will resume flights between Phoenix and London later this month.

The announcement means travelers can again fly non-stop from Phoenix to Europe, which was discontinued in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic.

British Airways will commence nonstop flights on August 31st, departing Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at 7.15pm and landing at London Heathrow Airport on September 1st at 1:15pm

“British Airways has been an important partner to the City of Phoenix and Sky Harbor International Airport for more than 20 years,” said Kate Gallego, Mayor of Phoenix. “This flight will help our economy grow and provide travelers with a non-stop connection to Europe.”

British Airways will initially only fly from Sky Harbor to London three days a week, but from the end of September it will resume daily non-stop service, according to the airline’s website.
