^ I Support Local Community Journalism Support the independent voice of Phoenix and help keep the future of the New Times clear. Nobody can say there is nothing to do in the Valley this weekend. In addition to all the fireworks and parties on July 4th, well-known bands and musicians will perform, while superstar DJs will mix in clubs or outdoor gigs. In the case of the former comedy metal act Steel Panther, the Norteño legend Ramon Ayala and the now actor – the country singer Hollywood Yates will all be performing in the music halls of Metro Phoenix. When it comes to the latter, you can catch REZZ, Steve Aoki, Nora En Pure, and Destructo hurling beats around town. Full details on each of these gigs can be found below in our list of the best concerts from Friday July 2nd to Sunday July 4th. And for more music events taking place in the metropolis of Phoenix, check out our online listing. EXPAND The profane, humorous metal band Steel Panther. David Jackson Steel Panther Friday July 2nd, Marquee Theater, 730 North Mill Avenue, Tempe, 480-829-0707 What if, in a perfect world, the musical genre you love most was the only one that existed and lived on forever ? Steel Panther imagines this to be true, and this weekend the glamorous foursome is bringing an entire heavy metal throwback show to the Tempes Marquee Theater on Friday. The best part? Steel Panther isn’t just a tribute – it’s also a mockery of the sometimes androgynous, hair-ruling days when Poison and Mötley Crüe owned MTV. The band gets it right by targeting the genre’s point, pinpointing the humor of the over-the-top days of Sunset Strip Hair Metal while balancing it with original and well-designed hook-heavy songs. Just imagine: 10 years from now, some guys born in the 90s will be wearing greasy mops on stage and smoking fake cigarettes to create a semi-accurate strokes homage, and it won’t be nearly as fun. The Steel Panther show on Friday kicks off at 8 p.m. with an opening set by The Bayou Bandits. Tickets cost $ 32 to $ 62. Bree Davies EXPAND Steve Aoki gets the crowd going at Talking Stick Resort. Benjamin Leatherman Summersesh 2021 Friday July 2ndRawhide Event Center, 5700 West North Loop Road, Chandler, 480-502-5600 We know him, we love him, and he heads to the Valley on the 4th weekend of July for a horde of electronic dances Music fans over another huge, limitless set at Rawhide in Chandler. Jauz, 4B, SayMyName, Lost Kings and Nostalgix will also perform at the 18-plus event, which starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $ 52.50 and the VIP tickets are $ 125. Falyn Freyman The legendary Ramón Ayala. Marco Torres Ramón Ayala Friday, July 2nd Celebrity Theater, 440 North 32nd Street, 602-267-0186 Many artists have their signature instruments: Stevie Wonder conjures up on the piano / keyboard, Carlos Santana moans with his electric guitar and Willie Nelson sings us with notes from trigger. In the same way, the stories of love, heartbreak and nightlife sung by Ramón Ayala are accompanied and defined by his trusty accordion, earning him the regal nickname “El Rey del Accordion” (The King of the Accordion) his band Los Bravos Del Norte is widely known for defining modern norteño, a regional style of music born in northern Mexico that features accordions and bajo sexto guitars prominently. Since debuting in the early 1960s, Ayala has recorded more than 100 albums and released a number of signature hits (on themes ranging from politics and crime to life, love and loss), including songs like “Tristes Recuerdos, “Tragos Amargos”, “E Federal de Caminos” and “Un Puño de Tierra”. Even at the age of 75, Ayala’s voice and dexterity are as alive as ever, and you can see for yourself when he comes to the Celebrity Theater on Friday night. The concert starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets range from $ 45 to $ 125. Marco Torres and Benjamin Leatherman EXPAND Daniela Di Lillo, better known as Deep House DJ / Producer Nora En Pure. Suzana Paylan Nora En Pure Friday July 2nd Sunbar, 24 West Fifth Street, Tempe, 480-687-8409Music producers got caught in a catch-22 during the pandemic: instead of blowing up their works at festivals and nightclubs, they were mostly new at home To produce music they couldn’t play for the crowd. And yet Nora En Pure (nee Daniela Di Lillo) continues to develop and reflects on her unwavering abilities. “When I think back, my sound has certainly changed with the trends, starting with the more commercial deep house and now more progressive,” says Di Lillo. “Now it feels like deep house sounds like it did back then.” The DJ, who was born in South Africa and lives in Switzerland, has been hypnotizing the world for over a decade with her unobtrusive deep house soundscapes and has earned her the award, ” Queen of Deep House “.
