Ingo’s Tasty Food Last month, the food scene at Valley welcomed Ingo’s Tasty Food, Inchin’s Bamboo Garden and a Filipino BBQ area, The Flaming Pig. More pizzerias opened, including another Lou Malnati’s, Illimitato Pizza, and Throne Brewing and Pizza Kitchen. We also lost five restaurants in the area this month. Below is the full list of openings and closings on the Phoenix dining scene as of August 2021. Inchin’s Bamboo Garden17 East Boston Street, ChandlerInchin’s Bamboo Garden offers fusion cuisine from India, Malaysia and China. The second location opened in Chandler this month. The Paleta Bar521 South College Avenue, # 107, Tempe The Paleta Bar has 25 locations. The most recent location was opened in Tempe. Guests can customize their own paletas with flavors, dips, and toppings. click to enlarge Taco Boys has opened its second location in Tempe. JM Photo Taco Boy’s1015 South Rural Road, Tempe The second location of the casual Mexican restaurant Taco Boy’s has opened in Tempe. The menu includes burros, tacos, quesadillas and homemade horchatas. We checked the original location in 2020. Illimitato Pizza1152 North Power Road, # 107Illlimitato Pizza opened its second location in Mesa this month. Check them out here on Facebook. Throne Brewing and Pizza Kitchen, 1326 North Central Avenue, Glendale Restaurant Throne Brewing and Pizza Kitchen has opened a second location in Phoenix. The newest location showcases sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and brews. Hi 5 Tea225 West Warner Road, # 102, Chandler Hi 5 Tea offers bubble tea as well as fried rice and noodle dishes, pad thai, stir-fry, pho, vermicelli and ice cream. click to enlarge Creamistry opened its first location in West Valley in August. Creamistry Creamistry1235 North 98th Avenue, Peoria The Creamistry Ice Cream Parlor is opening its first location in the West Valley in Park West. Tacos TapatioCorner by Recker and BrownTacos Tapatio is the newest food truck to debut in Mesa. It’s open between two and four days a week (see their social media accounts for the schedule). Taco Tapatio serves up Jalisco-style tacos, burros, and quesadillas. Flaming Pig1534 West Camelback Road The Filipino grill restaurant Flaming Pig offers Korean meatloaf and soups as well as grilled meat on a platter or sticks. Fryd Bird, 1038 West Southern Avenue, # 1, MesaA new fast-casual chicken store has opened in Mesa. Jackie Mercandetti The Bread and Honey House 4801 East Indian School Road The newest location of The Bread and Honey House has opened in Arcadia. The menu includes avocado toast, fish tacos, chilaquiles and omelettes. Saigon Bistro2041 North Arizona Avenue, ChandlerThe Saigon Bistro Vietnamese restaurant has a living lobster pool. Chandler Restaurant serves six types of pho, noodle and rice dishes. Mesquite Fresh Tex Mex1730 West Happy Valley RoadThe eighth location of Mesquite Fresh Tex Mex, a Mexican fast-casual restaurant, opened its doors in Phoenix. The menu includes burritos, tacos and bowls. click to enlarge Deep Dish Pizza continues to flood Phoenix. Lou Malnati’s Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria 3510 East Baseline Road, Suite L5-D-103, Mesa Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria opened its first location in the East Valley. The restaurant is currently only open for takeout and delivery orders. Supreme Shawarma 4929 West Ray Road, # 1, Chandler The Mediterranean restaurant serves kabobs, doner kebabs, lamb chops and gyros. Supreme Shawarma took over the room that had previously housed Turkish-Mediterranean cuisine. The Caspian Cup, 2268 East Williams Field Road, # 108, Gilbert A dessert shop, The Caspian Cup, serves a variety of flavors of shaved ice, popsicles, ice cream, and other cold goodies. To start, try the creamy coconut ice cream or coffee ice cream. Manuel’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, 4210 South Arizona Avenue, ChandlerManuel’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina has opened its eighth location in the Valley in Chandler. Baja fish tacos and seafood enchiladas are some of the highlights on the menu. click to enlarge La Hacienda is closing after four years. Copper Still Moonshine Grill The four year old sports bar has closed its location in Gilbert. Teakwoods Tavern & Grill – After 15 years, the Gilbert Teakwoods Tavern & Grill area closed its doors. The lease ended and the restaurant owners decided to close. Howler’s Restaurant & Sports Bar Located in Gilbert Town Square, the sports bar was closed after a year. The Chandler location is still open. Twisted Sugar, the Utah-based bakery was only open for a year and closed its doors this month.
