PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – Phoenix Police identified an interesting vehicle Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman near 17th Street and McDowell Road earlier this month. On Sunday July 18, 23-year-old Destiny McClain was in Phoenix with her friend, ordering from a food truck when she was shot dead. Police say it happened around 3:30 a.m. and when officers found McClain she had a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died of her injuries. Jupiter says the detectives at the time believe this was a random shootout. Unidentified suspects were firing from a vehicle in the area when a stray bullet struck Destiny. Since July 18, detectives have been working to find out what happened and who might be involved in the shootings. According to Phoenix Police, the timestamp on the video they provided is incorrect. She was a very caring person and this was the only time she left the house and couldn’t make it home.
