PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A nonprofit has opened a boutique store in Ahwatukee to raise funds to help women in need of housing. Janice’s Women’s Center opened the Janice Vaincre Boutique on the corner of Ranch Circle Drive and Ray Road in June. The upscale women’s thrift store is open to raise approximately $ 7.5 million to build a women’s center to help women suffering from domestic violence. Arizona’s family first introduced this project to you in April. The founder, Shante Saulsberry, saw a homeless woman sitting at a bus stop near the corner of Ray Road and 50th Street in Ahwatukee last year. ‘”Sausberry said. That started a routine where Saulsberry picked up a meal for the woman named Janice at a nearby Chick-Fil-A. Saulsberry and her mother were also formerly homeless. They were in the San Diego area and shelters. “It’s very stressful not having anyone in your corner. It’s very stressful when you feel like you’re out here alone,” Saulsberry said. Saulsberry tried to get Janice to a shelter but he could can’t find a bed for her. “I got her some clothes, a medical kit, because she had some medical concerns. I got her some food, of course, and I just said, ‘You know, if you need me I’ll keep checking on you.’ The $ 7.5 million goal will help build 52 tiny houses to support women and their children from converted shipping containers. There will also be a 10,000 to 12,000 square meter center with various facilities. Click here to donate to the Janice Women’s Center and learn more about the organization.
