Meet Mr. ORNG, the Suns Super Fan While many fans cheer for the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference finals, one fan stands out in particular. PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns will play game 5 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. The Suns lead 3-1, which means the Suns are in the NBA finals with another win for the first time since 1993. While a lot of fans cheer the team on, one of them really stands out. Patrick Batillo could look like a typical Suns fan until match day. “I moved here when I was 7, Barkley days, and I’ve been a season ticket holder for 16 years.” Batillo’s alter ego is Mr. ORNG, and he’s been a staple in Suns’ games for more than a decade. It doesn’t take long for Batillo to transform into the Superfan of the Suns, and it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say he’s bleeding basketball orange. Batillo is also the chief basketball coach at Peoria High School. “They have fun with it. Some of them didn’t know because I don’t make it the main focus of my work, but they all know it now. Especially the freshman. They think it’s funny. They are like, ‘You’re our coach, to see you in this light. ‘ They say it makes sense with the energy I bring and expect from them. ” Mr. ORNG hopes to conquer the Valley by the NBA title. Something that would mean so much to him and a fan base showing the world that it really is Planet Orange. “People say, ‘Oh, what if there’s another Mr. Orange or Mrs. Orange?’ That’s the point, right? That’s why I’m Mr. ORNG. More people who can bring in their passion in a way that is unique to them. Anything that enables people to discover that passion of the suns and how to share it and what? is important to them. That’s what it’s about. To have more fans, we can do that, and that allows us to have that platform and show the passion we have for our team, “said Batillo. Batillo says besides cheering up the crowd in the arena, he loves giving back to the community. Disguised as Mr. ORNG, he likes to go to tables and soup kitchens.
