National design-build firm Clayco, along with representatives from the Hubbard Street Group, Shepley Bulfinch, local politicians and community groups, recently hit the headlines with the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 26-story residential tower, Skye on 6th, in the Roosevelt Row Arts District in downtown Phoenix. Skye on the 6th will include 309 apartments, 6,500 square feet of retail space and a 78,000 square foot multi-storey car park with 201 parking spaces. But there are 10 recently completed projects in Downtown Phoenix that have changed the city’s skyline. The completed project includes amenities for both business and leisure travelers, as well as a rooftop pool and lounge. The Ryan is located across from Talking Stick Resort Arena in the heart of downtown Phoenix’s entertainment scene. The Ryan was developed by RED Development and is operated by StreetLights Residential. The Ryan RED Development and Streetlights Residential completed the construction of this luxurious residential tower in January 2020 as part of the Block23 block renovation. The project comprises 330 high-end units in the heart of the city center. RED Development completed this transformative project at the end of 2019. Block 23 is a live work play destination in the heart of downtown Phoenix. The office tower and the luxury apartments are conveniently located above the only grocery store in the city center and the Blanco Tacos & Tequila by Fox Restaurant Concept. Block 23 is centrally located, steps from downtown dining and entertainment at CityScape Phoenix, Talking Stick Arena, and Chase Field. The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Innovation Center (225,000 sq ft) is located next to the downtown campus of ASU and extends the downtown biomedical corridor to the northern edges of the city center. The building is designed to integrate research, entrepreneurial activity and entrepreneurship and offers opportunities for meaningful collaboration with tenants and the building’s community. The PBC Innovation Center serves as a bridge between the surrounding quarters, the academic community and the professional world. The McKinley. The McKinley The McKinley, a 15,000-square-foot facility on 3rd Avenue and McKinley Street, was recently completed and offers 108 luxury apartment units, recreation rooms, a rental office and underground parking. Footprint Center The home of the Phoenix Suns, Rattlers, and Phoenix Mercury has seen a big refresh. The 27-year-old arena has redesigned player and public facilities and upgraded all facilities as part of a recent $ 230 million renovation project. Phoenix Forge Gateway Community College recently completed construction on Phoenix Forge, a community makerspace on 6th Avenue and Van Buren. This unique center, open to the public, turned a former warehouse into a 22,500-square-foot space for creators to create. ASU Dormitory and Entrepreneurship Center ASU has completed construction work on its newest residential and training building in the city center. This 16-storey, 283,000 m² building has housed 532 upper school and doctoral students since the autumn semester of 2021. Kenect Phoenix Located on the southeast corner of Central and Polk, Kenect Phoenix is one of the downtown Phoenix projects that has replaced an above-ground parking lot with a luxurious 23-story apartment tower with retail on the ground floor. The new project comprises 320 rental units and a roof terrace.
